Posts: 2709 02/22/09 09:17:17 SUPER CARS FANATIC Super Trader	Tags : None I have a massive Star Trek collection produced by Playmates Toys. These were made back in the 90's when ST:TNG, DS9, and Voyager were on the air. I have pretty much a complete collection, save for infamous 1701 figures. Playmates Toys lost the license; I don't remember what year. But I was just over at EntertainmentEarth to check for CARS releases, and saw that Playmates Toys will again produce Star Trek action figures and toys for the new movie. OH NO! I really can't afford to collect another toy line, but how will I be able to resist?!

Posts: 3897 04/18/09 19:04:54 SUPER CARS FANATIC	So did anybody buy these? I was looking at the 3.75" figures at WM today and it looks as if some of them like Sylar Spock don't have neck articulation??? Either that or the joint is hidden very well.

WM's came a week later, and they appear to be sitting. I might buy one set and hang on to the receipt, in case they get clearanced. My gut is telling me the line will not last.

As for the Playmates figures, I have Uhura and McCoy thanks to TRU's 2 for $10 sale last week. I'm kicking myself for not buying more now as I really like the chair and desk console accessories that come with some of the figures. Great figure diorama fodder!

Those playsets look really neat though I'm hoping they go on clearance before I get them. From Burger King, I got a Kirk class and a USS Kelvin toy. Just saw the film today as well. It's not bad but not as great as people are making it out to be on other boards.

Posts: 3939 05/18/09 21:57:31 SUPER CARS FANATIC	Target has a sale on Star Trek toys this week Basic "Galaxy collection" figures for 6.29, the larger figures for 8.99, Enterprise for 22.99, Bridge playset for 19.99, transporter playset for 23.99 I bought the bridge but as I won't have enough Star Trek figures to use with it, I'll probably use parts of it with Clone Wars figures.

Luckily, I found 6" Uhuras and Spocks marked down to $6.97 at a WM. I also found Uhura and Spock in the 3.75" size for $4.97, again at WM.

I think I'll get the roleplay toys, and the bridge and transporter playsets too...and hang onto the receipt in case they go even lower and I manage to score them at 75% off.

I got most of the remaining figures I needed, two phasers, two tricorders, a communicator, a couple of bridges, and three transporters. I'm glad I got the ships when they were 50% off, as none made it to the final clearance price.
