What do you suppose the chances are that like the regular Storytellers cars, that we'll see the Mater Saves Christmas cars again next holiday season? In other words, do you think Reindeer Mater could be the next Rollin' Bowlin' Mater in terms of rarity and desirability (Rollin' Bowlin' Maters MIB fetch roughly $50.00 on eBay), or do you think it and the other MSC characters will be rereleased?

Moderator	We already know that the Storytellers line is different, since it was clearanced out last year, but then restocked this year. The Reindeer Mater if it continues with its popularity, will most likely get re released next Christmas, along with the Santa Car and others, I suspect. It will be hot because its a really cool sculpt with fantastic details, and an exclusive, but its not a movie car, so will demand remain high for this one, or ride up, down and up again like RB? Good question. Rollin Bowlin it seems was a fluke. Too expensive at first 19.99. Lots of people passed as you know. The game it was in was not really popular. RB sets were clogging the shelves. Most people passed on it cause it was not in the movie or on a single card. It was indeed rare in the 2006 famous BJ set, but most people did not have BJ's to get the 6 car set. We all wanted Brand New Mater in 2007 which was canon to the film, and no one needed RB Mater as a stand in for BNM anymore. The Rowlin Bowlin game was clearanced out two Christmas seasons ago 2007. People got it for 9.99 to 15.00 on clearance. Then, All of a sudden RB shows up for sale in Nov 2007 in the 2006 Factory sealed set on a DB 16 card with Rusty Mater front and because it was in the 2006 Factory set, it became a credible diecast, which drove completist crazy, who then had to have it and drove the price up. Aside, I have read that the single rear wheel Rowlin Bowlin is the real rare one. Not the dualie. Now here we are two years later collecting non canon cars! Time has changed for some collectors. RB is legend in this line. Thanks to Chris, Deano, Veva, Steve, Music,Rick, Rachel, Frank, Sharon, DAVE,OutlawBak, Rob, Dan, Joey, luckeydoug1, Fastboy4Life, Niler 7, Zanda, ParkerWilson and all of you for being great traders!. Looking for High Dive Mater and Motorama Girls, Cousins. 255 different diecast Cars to 11/3/09. Don't ask how many repeats!

Piston Cup Racer Super Cars Fanatic Posts: 1011 11/06/09 19:17:03	i always wanted RB mater, but we never got the sets over here. i know one guy imported one or two, but i wasnt prepared to pay over $100NZD just for one car. [this same guy wanted $500NZD for an EMPTY SOTS box.]
